FPE Capital LLP, a private equity firm with a focus on software and services, has announced the acquisition of Vanda Research, a company specializing in B2B research and data products for institutional capital markets investors. This acquisition is the sixth investment from FPE Fund III, a fund that successfully closed in May 2022 with a raised hard cap of £185 million.

Vanda Research is known for its proprietary quantitative models that offer tactical macro and strategic investment analysis based on positioning and flow data. The company’s clientele includes blue-chip investment banks, hedge funds, and asset managers and it operates offices in the UK, US, EU, and APAC. The company is led by CEO Angus Hume.

With FPE’s successful track record in B2B data and information businesses, the firm aims to support Vanda’s next stage of growth. The private equity firm was attracted to Vanda’s large, stable, and growing market, and aims to assist the company in furthering its go-to-market strategy. Additionally, Vanda intends to pursue selective acquisitions to bolster its offerings.

Key advisors in the transaction included Stephenson Harwood, Plural Strategy, RSM, and The Continuum for FPE Capital. Shareholders of Vanda were advised by KPMG, K&L Gates, BDO, and EY.
