BGF (Business Growth Fund) has appointed Chris Olds as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Chris Olds, previously CFO of Ultraleap, brings extensive experience from his roles in venture capital and growth-stage markets. At Ultraleap, Chris spearheaded significant growth, securing over £100 million in equity and debt, and oversaw the acquisition of US-based tech company Leap Motion. Chris has also been a Capital Markets Partner at IP Group, a FTSE 250 venture capital firm, and served as a non-executive director and advisor for numerous growth-stage companies. As COO, Chris will be responsible for various operational areas, including finance, regulatory compliance, legal, technology, and ESG issues, while reporting to BGF’s CEO, Andy Gregory. He replaces Matt Reed, who steps down after over 12 years, having played an instrumental role in the success and establishment of BGF. Andy Gregory expressed his enthusiasm about Chris’s appointment, noting his strong operational and investment expertise.
