Orca AI, an AI-based operational platform aimed at integrating autonomous features in ships, has secured £18 million in new funding. Established by naval technology experts Yarden Gross and Dor Raviv, Orca AI’s platform enhances voyage safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability. Since its inception, the platform has made significant strides, including powering the world’s first autonomous commercial ship voyage in 2022 with NYK. The funding round, led by OCV Partners and Mizmaa Ventures, brings the total capital raised to nearly $40 million. This new funding will help Orca AI further technology, expand globally, and reduce maritime carbon emissions. CEO Yarden Gross highlighted the technology’s crucial role in navigating complex marine environments, reducing fuel consumption, and enhancing vessel safety. Hemi Zucker from OCV emphasized the massive untapped potential in the field of autonomous maritime transport.
