Chubb has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Catalyst Aviation Insurance, a Melbourne-based managing general agent specializing in general aviation insurance for the Australian market. The acquisition is expected to complete by the end of June and aims to expand Chubb’s market presence in the general aviation sector. Brendan Warner, the current Managing Director of Catalyst, will continue to lead the Australian aviation business. The deal will enhance Chubb’s capabilities in the region and is consistent with the company’s strategy to grow its aviation insurance footprint globally. Peter Kelaher, Chubb’s Country President for Australia and New Zealand, and Simon Abbott, Head of Aviation for Chubb Global Markets, both emphasized the complementary nature of this acquisition to Chubb’s existing operations.
