Ittybit, a startup based in Salford, has successfully secured £1.5 million in a funding round led by Mercuri and Sure Valley Ventures, with additional participation from Oxford Capital, Baltic Ventures, and angel investors. Founded to address the increasing demand for efficient upload of high-quality image, video, and audio files, Ittybit has developed an AI-driven compression tool that reduces upload and download times, as well as storage requirements. The startup also offers advanced filtering, searchability, tagging, and transcription tools for media content. Founder Paul Williams emphasized that Ittybit was created to solve problems he encountered with large video files in his previous ventures. The investment aims to enable Ittybit to expand its reach and impact in the media and creative industries.
