VINCI Airports, recognized as the world’s leading private airport operator, has acquired a minority share in Airport Holding Kft, the holder of Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. The acquisition, which includes net debt considerations, totals 3.1 billion euros and signifies a major advancement in VINCI Airports’ footprint in Central and Eastern Europe. Orrick, serving as legal advisors, facilitated this transaction, working together with investment fund Corvinus, owned by the Hungarian state. The sellers were AviAlliance, CDPQ, and Malton Investment. The deal includes strategic long-term partnerships and the refinancing of existing obligations. The transaction will bolster VINCI Airports’ operations in the European sector and is anticipated to stimulate economic activity in Budapest.
