Advanced manufacturing company Tharsus has launched VersaTile Automation, a new robotics business, with an £8 million investment. Based in Blyth, Northumberland, VersaTile aims to enhance productivity in UK warehouses with its modular automation technology. The platform, integrated with AI, doubles productivity and requires half the space of traditional systems. VersaTile’s first customer, Wincanton, has implemented the technology in its Northampton eFulfilment centre, significantly improving order picking efficiency. The new business is expected to create high-value career opportunities in AI, software, technology development, engineering, and manufacturing sectors, contributing to the economic development of the local community.
