The British Business Bank has appointed Louis Taylor as the new Chair of its commercial subsidiary, British Patient Capital. Taylor takes over from Russ Cummings, who served on the board for six years since the establishment of British Patient Capital in 2018. Taylor will continue as CEO of the British Business Bank, a position he assumed in 2022. The board also sees new appointees; Ian Connatty, the Bank’s Deputy Chief Investment Officer, joins as a Director, and Tom Haywood steps into the role of Managing Director, Direct Investments. British Patient Capital is recognized as the largest domestic investor in UK venture and venture growth capital, actively supporting high-growth companies, particularly in life sciences and deeptech. The British Business Bank, founded in November 2014, aims to drive sustainable growth in the UK by facilitating access to finance for smaller businesses, administering various financial schemes including the UK’s COVID-19 response initiatives.
