AMEA Power, a leading renewable energy company, has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Implementation Agreement (IA) with Ethiopian Electric Power for a 300MW wind project in Ethiopia. The $620 million project, located in Aysha, Somali Region State, aims to generate 1,400 GWh of clean energy annually, powering over 4 million households. The agreement was signed during COP28 in Dubai and marks a critical step in Ethiopia’s renewable energy goals. The project, which will also create over 1,500 direct jobs, received support from high-ranking officials and will entail significant socio-economic benefits for local communities.
