India’s second-largest IT services company, Infosys, is actively seeking further acquisitions in the areas of data analytics and software as a service (SAAS), according to CEO Salil Parekh. The company is committed to acquisitions on a scale similar to its recent purchase of in-tech Holding for 450 million euros. Infosys aims to expand its footprint in Europe and the US, while considering strategic synergies, financial cost, and cultural fit in potential acquisitions. Despite the advent of generative AI and other advanced technologies, Infosys is not planning any layoffs and is instead increasing recruitment efforts. The company is also heavily invested in Generative AI, with over 225 AI programs for clients and more than 250,000 employees trained in this area. Infosys denies having any new updates regarding a $3.9-billion GST tax demand.
