Polish travel platform eSky Group has signed agreements with China’s Fosun Tourism Group to acquire Thomas Cook. The deal, valued at £30 million ($39.48 million), excludes Thomas Cook’s business in China. This acquisition is part of eSky’s strategy to expand and diversify its offerings, especially in Western Europe. Fosun had taken over the debt-laden travel firm Thomas Cook in 2019 for £11 million. eSky, which operates in over 50 countries across several continents, aims to merge Thomas Cook’s brand with its own technology to foster growth. MCI Capital, which owns a 55% stake in eSky, expects the move to significantly boost eSky’s package holiday sales.
